Ortoma AB (publ) ("Ortoma" or the "Company") has recently hosted a successful training session for leading Japanese orthopaedic surgeons experienced in assisted surgery. The training prepares the surgeons for the upcoming pilot period and provided Ortoma with important user feedback for future product development.
Today, Ortoma is pleased to announce that the Company has recently hosted a successful training session with the Ortoma OTS Hip™ system for leading Japanese orthopaedic surgeons. The training was aimed at ensuring that surgeons are well prepared to adopt the OTS Hip technique during a pilot clinical evaluation period for up to 6 months in Japan. Ortoma has previously announced that the Company has received orders for the OTS Hip™ system (press release 2022-10-06) to be used during this period.
The training was held at the Tampere Surgical Educational Centre in Finland, a leading centre for research and development where companies, surgeons and students can test surgical methods and systems under conditions that simulate a real operating theatre. The surgeons had the opportunity to use the OTS™ Hip in a real operating environment, an important step ahead of the delivery of the systems to Japan.
Linus Byström, CEO at Ortoma, comments:
"The fact that we have now conducted a successful training session with leading orthopaedic surgeons who were able to practise using our pioneering OTS™ Hip system is valuable as it shortens the start-up time for the surgeons to start using itclinically. It paves the way for the systems we are now delivering to be rapidly deployed and evaluated during the pilot period of a maximum of 6 months. The training session also provided a fruitful exchange where we received good feedback on the needs of the market which is very useful in future product development."
